Newbie Question: Mortgage Note Investing in the UK - Is it possible?

Hi All

Very new to the world of real estate investing, so am currently trying to learn as much as possible.

The other day I came across mortgage note investing and looked into it further…do these exist in the UK? Everything else I have read about them seems to be related to the US specifically and not mentioned at all amongst UK investors. Is this market accessible for the average investor in the UK, or is it exclusively banks and hedge funds who buy/sell these sorts of instruments?

Would be very grateful for some clarity!

BP is primarily a US-based forum. I have never heard of anyone investing in notes in other countries but I'm sure it happens!

     Where are you located? note investing is difficult here in the US and is a relationship business, I am sure there are mortgages you could buy in the UK but if you are just getting started, then trying to do note investing overseas to me would seem near impossible.

    Thanks for your reply. I'm based in the UK and was potentially looking at note investing as an avenue to go down. But, hadn't seen anything references here in the UK!

    Noted about the difficulty of it!

    I was also curious about this, did you ever find out whether note investing is a thing in the UK?
