That's funny, some of the most expensive sought after properties are inside the loop. Specifically a few submarkets (midtown/montrose/heights). Giant new class A being built all over the place. Something tells me if people were being stabbed left and right that wouldn't be the case.
But I'd rather be stabbed inside the loop then live in Conroe where I'd likely stab myself

Hey man, we have two Chick-Fil-A's now and at least 20 other fast food options. If you're in Conroe, just eat yourself to a slow death like the rest of us!
I did a flip project forever ago when I was just starting out. It was in the Del Lago subdivision. I actually still own that place (on Presidio). I used to go up there all the time to work on it. I'd pass a Which Which along the way and always get the same thing. Yeah, crap, that little flip project has been rented since forever ago. I should go check it out next time I'm up there.

This sounds like an episode of The Expanse with the "Inners" 馃ぃ. Actually, now that I think about it there is this other group called "The Belters" which very well could be Houston Investors close to Beltway 8.
And that's why I don't own any REI property, spend that valuable time watching tv. That's why my goal is to go to all the REI meet-ups I can and ACT.
@Cody L. Ouch! Well on your next trip to Del Lago stop by our meetup. Careful passing the many inner loop tent cities after 9pm though.
Ironically there was a little tent city under the 59 freeway "spur" by montrose/midtown. It was literally across the street from an apartment of mine.
I'd rather live in Montrose in a tent then in Conroe :-)
(just giving you a hard time. In San Diego I live downtown and I have a lot of friends that live in the San Diego equiv of woodlands/conroe/katy and we have the same discussion. All in fun)

For inner loopers, there's a group that meets at Pub Fiction downtown. I haven't had a chance to get there yet, so I can't attest to it's quality or how pitchy/guru-y it is, but if having it hosted by a BP podcast guest gives it any credence for you, I'm sure Kevin can get you the details on the coming one for February if you reply on the below event that was last night:

Yes, I would be happy to participate in a Katy based one. We used to meet at the Panera near the mall on Kingsland, there was plenty of room. Other places could work as well. I live closer to the Fulshear side, so southwest of Cinco Ranch.

I'm looking to start one up if there is enough interest.. From what I see, we'll have three :) (Ethan, Christian, and Me). I'm new to the game, so networking is definitely always good. I'm focused more on SFH & MFH. I'm also looking into Mid-Term Rentals. I live close to the Fulshear side as well. Somewhere around the Mall or the La Centera area would be perfect. I've been to the panera by the mall. I'm not sure it would host a group size of 15+ and be segregated from the food crowd.

Anyone up for meeting in two weeks? Wednesday, Nov. 2nd?
Next week is the third Wednesday of the month, and is usually the day that the BP Houston REI Meetup has there meeting.
Being it looks like 4 people, we can/could meet at Panera bread by Katy Mills Mall, and we need to find another place.. We can do that at the next meeting... Any thoughts on another day?
