Dear Fellow BPers in and around Tokyo Japan.
I would like to get a small informal get-together going on a regular basis somewhere in Tokyo. Open to anyone willing to make the trip of course, but likely folks from the Kanto area - Yokohama, Chiba, Saitama, Kanagawa, Ibaraki, etc?
Please reply here in case you're interested, and if you want to help organize, even better! :)
Let's try to get the first meeting going in the next 2-3 weeks, then hopefully make it a monthly thing??
@Daniel Ryu Thank you for the link to your article. I can't wait to read it and share it. All who attended the small joint meetup last month invest in the US. I am hoping to grow our local group in Yokosuka and this type of resource will be very helpful because having a roadmap from someone who has traveled the way we want to go is always helpful because it makes what seems impossible more real and attainable. I'm sharing it with the Yokosuka group and suggesting we have a discussion on it when we meet.
We are in our infancy stage, so no, we have not yet thrown our meetup on Meetup.com
@Account Closed, I will be attending and plan to bring a friend along. I encourage all others to reply with your commitment or regret so Matt can contact the venue and they can assign us an adequate space. I am hoping we will need a large table or two. :)
We just posted two spreadsheets to help with quick financial analysis / estimating owner debt load. We've also been talking about markets, knowing when to sell, etc.

@Matthew Pinkston, It was nice to meet again and spend some time discussing progress, goals and brainstorming strategies. Good introduction for my friend to get a feel of what BP members interactions can be like.
Lately I have been experiencing trouble when searching the forums for this thread. I used to find it easily by typing any combination of words BP, Tokyo +Meetup. Now I get 0 results? Does someone know what happened?
Hey there, sorry i've gone awol. Dec 17th seems good. I just closed on a prop in adachi-ku and 2 in the pipeline stateside. Would like to meet other investors.
I'd love to join, and the 17th is one day before I fly back to the US for the holidays, so the timing works out well. I'd also love to hear about those acquisitions, @Trevor Moss!
@Trevor Moss Only a couple days away! It seems nothing has been decided yet, but I'd be happy to reserve a spot at the usual place in Yokohama, or even try to find something closer to the Tokyo area if that works better.
I'd like to get psyched up before going back to the US for the holidays, so even a small gathering works for me.
