Town of Mountain View Short Term Rentals

Has anyone invested in the Town of Mountain View just west of Denver?

I came across an interesting property that got my attention. It's an up/down duplex (4 bed / 2 bath) that needs a little cosmetic work, but what makes it unique is that it's located in the Town of Mountain View—not Denver.

Since Mountain View is its own municipality, it has different short-term rental regulations and currently allows STRs without requiring the property to be your primary residence.

It seems like an interesting option for someone looking to:

  • House hack
  • Operate a short-term rental
  • Add value through renovations and build equity

I'm curious how others would analyze a deal like this. Would you lean toward long-term rentals, short-term rentals, or simply renovating and holding?

I'd love to hear how others in the Denver market would approach it.
