Hello investors?
Has anyone ever heard of a skiptrace service called TLO. I was referred by a colleague of mine and I wanted some more insight on the program before I decided to hop in it. I will be using the service for the purpose of locating homeowners with vacant and unwanted homes that are hard to locate. Thanks again.

Hello, I think I have passed my phone interview and am now moving on to the demo. During the home inspection did they look through files or just want to see you have a place for them

@Jeremy Gue I think they look to make sure where ever you will be accessing and storing the info is secure. So both your office and storage should have a lock. But I was also under the impression you could not have a home office.

You can have a home office. Just has to be secure. Only used for work, key Lock on door, shredder, lockable file cabinet, and password protected computer.

TLO also expects you to own the home along with the other qualifications. If you're a renter you're landlord could have access t these records as well. I have skip tracing to be an awesome tool. I use other services and pay as little as $2 for tons of information. I don't get SSN or Credit info for $2, but all I really need to make a connection with the seller is available.
I tried to sign up for TLO but they said that, they cannot help me locate owners of houses. Is there a trick to getting the service, what type of business do you have to tell them you have?

I had quite an extensive chat with a TLO rep yesterday on the phone, he was quite forthcoming. The thing that may be new, at least I didn't see it as I scanned this thread, is that they 'audit' your use of the the service periodically. A bad use case is trying to contact unknown vacant house owners so you can buy their property. A good use case is doing preforclosures and running into someone in a house that says they will sell you the house. Then you need to verify their identity, ownership of the house. The difference is obvious, in one case you meet and have an existing relationship with the person and need to verify them, in the other you do no know them and are trying to use the service to meet them.
That being said, he then went on to say that a percentage of inquiries the customer makes are 'audited'. So that means that they will randomly check your use out and if you have used it for an improper use case they will shut down your account.

Hi, just wondering if anyone has used microbilt or Tracers and how they compare to TLO. Have been using beenverified but it's rubbish to try to find phone numbers. Thanks!

@Mercedes Windsor I haven't used TLO but have used Tracers. I think that the amount of info you get from Tracers to be pretty good for the $1 search. You get addresses, phone numbers, relatives, aliases, etc... The only thing I did not like is that if you searching for someone you may have to complete a couple different searches to find the right contact, and each one of those searches cost $1. If you search and no results are found at all, then there is no charge. But I also did try LocatePlus and just did not like their search set up, and the information that you got was pretty limited compared to Tracers. Although Locateplus is unlimited searches for $80.
For my company homescoutllc.com we decided to use a VA to do skip traces for around $0.20 per trace (they use TLO I believe) then if we need to do one off searches I use my tracers account. One more thing about tracers is that it is a minimum of $39/month.

I'm just a bit confused about the actual costs that go into TLOxp's service. If I'm running an individual people search for "John Doe" looking up his full name, SSN, relatives, bankruptcies, judgements, liens, etc., how much could I potentially be looking at in terms of total costs? Is there any cap or could I potentially be charged into perpetuity?
I have been trying to get TLOxp, but they keep rejecting me because I am in the real estate business. The only piece of data I am looking for are peoples phone numbers. I have been using spokeo with about a 40% success rate. A lot of you have mentioned other services. Since I can't get TLOxp, what is the next best services?

There are many skip-tracing options. Use one that has flexible pricing options based on your volume, no pricy long-term contracts, and excellent customer service. Let me know if you'd like more information on the best service to use or a referral code.
