Hello, was looking for some guidance. When renting out a townhome in Florida, do you alert your homeowners insurance / make changes to the policy?

    Yes. You’ll need a landlord policy vs homeowners

     Sergey is correct. There is a difference between a private policy and a Landlord policy. Make sure you update yours to maintain coverage.
