Hi all,

Excited to be here. I've been listening to the BiggerPockets podcast for a few years now, and they keep telling me to network, so here I am.

I haven't done any deals yet, but actively checking the market and looking to invest in a short or midterm rental property. I'm open to other strategies, of course, though I have been working for an airbnb management company for a few years and I believe I would really enjoy doing that kind of hosting.

I've connected with a local agent, who I met through some local investors I know. I'm not ready to purchase a property immediately, but looking to do so within the next year.

Thanks, guys!

Welcome, Natalie! Sounds like you’re doing it the right way by learning the market and building your network before jumping in. Since you’re open to different strategies, don’t overlook out-of-state either. I work with investors in Ohio, and Ohio can be an interesting market for short-, mid-, and traditional rentals.

Thanks for the tip. I think I want to stay local for my first few deals, so I can learn the business a bit better. In the future, though, I am definitely open to out-of-state. What makes Ohio specifically an interesting market for buy-and-hold investing?
