We have a 5* AirBnB - but moved out of state and have been struggling getting cleaners that are doing a good job. We are on our 2nd cleaner in just 3 months - we are paying well above average and still aren't having any luck. Any suggestions?
Paying well is a good start, but in my experience pay alone doesn't fix bad turnover results. The fix is usually systems plus redundancy.
Always keep two cleaners — a primary and a backup. From out of state, one person going on vacation or quitting leaves you scrambling, and that's where quality dies. Also give them a written checklist of exactly what a finished unit looks like, and require timestamped photos after every clean — beds, bathrooms, floors, trash. Review the first few cleans like a job interview. It sounds strict, but photos are the only eyes you have when you're not local.
Finally, run a paid trial clean before trusting someone with turnover days, and pay flat per clean instead of hourly so thorough work doesn't cost them money. Good cleaners who follow a checklist are out there — they're just rarely found on the first try.

What keeps getting missed, Joe? Actual cleaning, putting the place back together, or showing up on time? With our out-of-state rentals I'd rather see the specific misses before hiring cleaner number three. Laundry taking too long or missing supplies can make the next person struggle with the same things.
Matthew - the first misses were coffee pot & kitchen not being cleaned. Both were on checklist and were missed. Most recent misses were we found they were never cleaning under furniture or beds. A guests cat went under the bed and came out looking like a ghost. Then the guest started really looking and found stove, air fryer & coffee station were not cleaned. All of the above were on the checklist and when we talked to cleaner - she didn't own up and said that is part of deep cleaning. From our camera's we can see she is only in the house ~ 2 hours and being paid $250 for a 3 bed, 2 bath house.
No individual suggestions, just a "Go Bills!" But, someone above suggested checking Turno. That might give you some options but I'd say flying out to do interviews might do you better than trying to handle that remotely.
