Hi everyone! I’m Meron Bekele, and I’m based in Las Vegas. I’m glad to be here and look forward to getting to know you.
My background includes nearly two decades in banking, finance, risk management, and accounting. More than five of those years have been in property accounting with multifamily and single-family rental portfolios.
My work includes reconciliations, monthly close, and financial reporting. I enjoy figuring out why a balance doesn’t look right or what caused an expense to change, then making the explanation clear.
I’m here to meet rental owners, hear about your experiences and challenges, and learn from your perspectives. I’m happy to contribute to conversations where my accounting knowledge can be useful.

Welcome, Meron to the BP community! Close to two decades in banking plus property accounting is a rare combination, and owners often struggle with clean books. I work with a lot of members in our featured program and would love to hear what challenges you see most in rental accounting. Excited to have you here!

Thank you for the warm welcome, Ashley! One challenge in rental accounting is that a bank reconciliation can be correct while the books still give the owner the wrong picture. For example, an owner contribution or a refundable security deposit recorded as rent can make rental income look higher than it really is.
That’s where I like to look beyond matching transactions and understand what the money represents. Clear books should help owners understand how their properties are doing. I’d be happy to exchange ideas with you and hear more about the challenges members are facing. Glad to be here!
