Sponsor will usually accept “promote” in “units”, in other words equity participation, sometimes only collectible AFTER passive investors receive all their investment back.

I find it sad the sheer volume of "pedestrian" answers, or self-promotion that focuses not on answering a problem but how to profit off a person..... 2009-2010 was the best I've ever seen the Real Estate Investment industry, because almost everyone was laser focused to the foundational tenant "Problem Solver".
