How are you using the BiggerPockets keyword alert system?
I think this is a great new feature.
I've just started using it and have put in about 20 key word alerts.
I've put in a number of cities that interest me, including Dallas and Austin.
I've put in a few variations of SD-IRA searches. Also Equity Trust, my current custodian.
I've put in my name with a couple of variations.
I've entered "new home construction."
If you've got a company, you should enter it now so you can track feedback and get leads.
How will you use key word alerts?

The thing I like best about it so far and that while I am working on other things, I can check out my alerts to see if there is a pressing topic that I may want to get to right then. Otherwise, I can start prioritizing when i need to get back over there, but I love the fact that this is a reminder to visit the site and join the conversation every day.
Really cool so far -

I don't know if it's the keyword alert system, or the beginning of the new year, but not only am I getting more keyword alerts than I can handle, I'm getting more follows and colleague requests.
Good job, Joshua Dorkin, I think this will go a long way toward spreading the word.

Ann Bellamy - We added you to our People to Know list . . . that may account for your new connections.
I love the new keyword alerts but like others I am getting a ton of emails (which is a good thing) but it kind of floods my inbox. Here is what I am going to do to help make things more manageable:
1) Create a new folder in my email (BiggerPockets Alerts)
2) Setup a rule that sends emails with the phrase "posted about" to the folder
This way the emails wont flood my inbox but I will still get the emails and can go through them quickly.
Has anybody else done something similar yet?
Ooh, ooh ooh, Joshua Dorkin, not only did you add me to the list, but you featured me in the tutorial! I've been down with the flu and didn't catch the new feature. Thank you so much! I'll redouble my efforts to spread the word and share posts.
James Vermillion, good idea!

Thanks Ann Bellamy . . . we appreciate you helping make BP the best community around!
In response to constant emails, I fixed that by opting out of receiving emails. When I log in here, I'll have the notifications inform me.
Only issue I have is the quoted text causing repeated alerts.
This is a great new feature. I can quickly find new posts about Austin or that contain my last name. I have several others set up too.
Nice work.
