In brief: The system will send users an email or SMS message (SMS for PRO members only) whenever someone posts something on the forum that includes your keyword or keyword phrase. So, if you're an investor that focuses on NNN or mobile homes, you can set up alerts so you know anytime someone is talking about that on BP.

This is an extremely powerful tool for users who want to share their expertise on specific topics or those that want to learn.

It is a great tool for users whose businesses revolve around real estate as well. Say your company provides direct mail services. By setting up alerts for keywords like "direct mail," "mail," "yellow letters" or various other related terms, you can quickly jump on the thread and provide helpful responses to those people talking about the topic. By demonstrating your expertise, people will come to know and trust you and your company and will be far more likely to want to do business with you. If you have your company's link in your signature (even better if you have your company logo -- that comes with a PRO account)

Thanks @Jerry Puckett & @Tiger M.. This has been something we've been thinking about for some time, but when it was recently raised by a few users, we decided to execute and knock it out.

Never being late to the party is exactly what we're trying to get at with this function.

FYI -- The keywords I've added include those for the site, my name, my hometown, and various on topics that I specialize in.

As for your question, Jerry, about the double notifications, unfortunately, if you use your name as a keyword, you will get notified twice if someone mentions you. You can always turn the mention alerts off if you want.

I actually missed out on a very good lead because someone 'mentioned' me incorrectly in a thread.

Any chance of getting a check box system, or some other way to mass delete alerts on the notifications page of my dashboard?

I've been clicking through to my alerts from email, and when I got back to the site today, there was a huge stack waiting for me. Apparently, you have to click through to each thread again to make the alert disappear from the page....very time consuming. Just looking for an easier way to keep everything tidy.
