newbie in PA

Just found this site about 15min ago. Brand new REI from Washington,PA. Have only read a few posts and already I like it. Just wanted to say hello to everyone. So far this seems like a friendly forum.

WOW!! Talk about friendly! Well you guys wanted personal info so here goes. First off Washington is about 30 miles SW of Pittsburgh. For myself I'm 36 and have been interested in REI for at least the past 12yrs. Read a bunch af RE books over that time and finally decided about 3wks ago to get started. Actually I went with my nephew to a NFI seminar and from the info they presented and my longstanding interest we both said why not. Presently we're looking at REO's and some 2-4 unit rentals, but not really focusing on any given area. Rehabs, rentals, whatever. Whatever I can do to get out of my present job and work for myself(the BEST boss in the world!). Thanx for the replies and don't worry I'll be posting here again real soon!

A friendly welcome from PA. Hope you enjoy the site. This is IMO the best forum on the net to get REI information. If you want a little more PA info visit ********** dot com and find their podcast section and listen to the one called " From farmer to landlord" it's about a guy from Johnstown that started buying investment properties in his home town and is doing pretty well and started up a REIA. It'll give you a little taste of what someone relatively close to you is doing with REI.

Thats awesome Butter (hope you dont mind dont know your name) and you might want to check out some of the forums and threads! When you get the chance check out the Wholesaling forum, the Rehabbing forum, and the Rental Questions forum I think you will them very much.
