What to put for personal title for business cards

I am about to create my business cards but one question I would like to ask " What do Wholesaler's put for Personal Title under their name when they do these business cards?

You could use "Lord of Land", "Prince of Parcels" "Property King" "High Priest of Real Estate" or "Guru Mentor" but I'd just go with my name without a title or just "Owner".

I get a kick out seeing a person's business card with "President, CEO" of something like American Real Estate Enterprises.

I know some pretty wealthy business types, their cards are more likely to be just their name centered, the lower left in smaller print is an address and a phone number on the lower right. Those are personal business cards, given to those who know who they are or who can remember the subject of the meeting or reason they got the card.

My card had what it was required to have "Broker/Owner"

I'll tell a little family secret, my oldest son opened a business, just he and his wife. Card said President & CEO. He got an answering system and put on there. blah, blah, blah, For customer service dial 1, for accounting dial 2, For shipping dial 3, For personnel dial 4. For Management dial 5. Regardless of what number you dialed you got him or his wife! LOL

They later changed it and came down to earth and he does very well.

You don't need titles and grand company names, they will later learn is just you and you'll look silly. :)

I have never had a business card.

When a mutual friend then partner made an issue of it I just printed some off using a word template onto stock perforated business card paper.

It just has my name & cell number but I very rarely hand them out. But we still do a lot of REI.

A business license, yes, if it's a business you'll likely need a business license. Good question! That is a question asked early on in court here, a landlord needs a business license, if they aren't compliant they will need to come back later when they are to continue with an eviction or whatever. Need to check with your city and county as well as the state to ensure your business doesn't fall into some licensing issue (as to how you conduct business).   :)

if you do desire to have a title, there can be a just reason to have one.  One thought to consider is that you are not the boss, even if you are.  If you are negotiating a deal with someone that you just spent time building a rapport with, it is useful to give them your low ball offer and just say that it came from you boss.  Then you arent the bad guy in the conversation.  It wasnt your fault.  I prefer Assistant Manager or Vice President, something that clearly indicates that your probably not the top person.

I agree with Jeff, had some printed up through VistaPrint they look great, and the cost was reasonable little over $8 bucks for 50 as this was my first time using them which is the reason for the small quantity.

I agree with all above as well.  Much as I would like everyone to know me as Emperor of the Universe, there’s a more important reason to keep your card neutral and with no title.

If you’re lucky, those in the industry that you hand your card to might understand what a wholesaler is.  If you hand your card to a homeowner, they will have no idea and you’ll have to start explaining what a wholesaler does. This might or might not go over well.

I also agree that you should keep the back blank and matt.  I usually throw cards away when I can’t take notes and almost always forget why I saved them.

You can get blank cards 10 to a sheet at Staples that come with simple instructions to call up the standard business card templates in MS Word or Apple Pages.  Try a few options one sheet at a time and see what you like.  Once you find a format that works, you can print them as needed or go to VistaPrint.

Don’t dwell on this.

Thank you so much for the great information.  I have another question.  Would I need to get a business license to do this type of business? Not a real estate license but a business license stating that I do this out of my home for tax purposes at the end of the year?
