Hello everyone! My husband and I are just starting our real estate investment journey. We are currently considering starting in the Kansas City area, since we live in Los Angeles, CA we would greatly appreciate any help pointing us in the right direction!
Mainly, we would like to know if this is a good starting location, but we would also like to connect with agents, wholesalers, sellers, contractors and anyone else that could help us make the jump into the market
We have elected to BRRRR with our own cash and are excited and eager to find a great team to create mutually beneficial partnerships

Hi Rachel, I am from CA and want to invest in the Kansas City market as well! It is so darn expensive to invest in CA and know that we can get more bang for our buck in the Midwest.
I know having a great property management team is crucial for us out of state investors.
I have started compiling and narrowing down different property mangers and these are the ones with the best reviews that I found in Kansas City, Kansas.

The market has become competitive for SFR and for properties that fit that model. Have you thought about other asset classes? I have found a lot of success in commercial mixed use and small multifamily. I am doing a $2MM BRRRR right now on a commercial building. @Emily Hill best property is in KCMO not KCK. I know, weird. I am from NY and lived all over before settling in KCMO. Took me a hot minute to wrap my brain around that. Is there a reason you like KCK over KCMO? We have been landlord laws in MO compared to KCK.
@Dan Krupa thank you for the heads up, a buddy of ours has invested out there with success and now he’s moving out there, my husband feels more confident looking in a place where we have a friend that we can count on to help us out with anything out there.
