Live in California with LLC in GA-- need advice

Hi all,

I live in California and own a property in GA. The property is in an LLC which was established in GA. There are no other properties in this LLC. My accountant is insistent that I register this Georgia LLC in California. It seems like a very gray area.

We are managing the property ourselves from California and my husband qulaified for real estate professional status on our taxes the past 2 years.

Anyone else have experience in this?

You are gonna have to register it in California and pay the $800 a year fee to california

no way around it - probably would have been better to keep it in your name and get a good insurance policy

Thanks for the input. Yes, researched that option quite a bit as well and decided go with the LLC.
