Spending 5-10 minutes, or more, typing a response to someone's post - and they NEVER bother to give you a VOTE!

Sometimes, they even post a thank you, but don't VOTE for your response:(

You guys all see the User Stats to the left of every post & response for each member?

How many of you know that BiggerPockets awards badges for achieving certain numbers for Posts and Votes?

Why do you think BiggerPockets tracks those KPIs?

IT'S FOR BRAGGING RIGHTS AND COMPETITIVENESS!

So, if someone helps you out with a good or great response to your post, or you learn something by reading that same response, show some GRATITUDE and VOTE for their response!

Or, do you want your posts to start being ignored?

Joe is spending a lot of his free time in the BP Facebook group. I find it pretty toxic there. Nathan has had some pretty life altering changes in his life that hes needed to attend to. Not sure where Jim K has been

Everyone on BP is either selling something or looking to be sold something. The OG's just understand that the proper and most effective content marketing strategy on BP involves providing users high quality content for free. The money comes on the backend after you've had thousands of opportunities to demonstrate your skill set on the stage that the platform has provided.

The newbs and the Columbus Cartel don't seem to understand that just spamming people junk instead of providing true value on the stage that BP has provided isn't as effective.

I’ve noticed recently that many of the folks with super high vote to post ratios are not active on here anymore. Most people replying these days are selling something, and their posts are either ChatGPT responses or cut and pasted. The quality and originality of replies has gone way, way down. Thankfully we still have a few stalwarts like Jay, Russell Brazil, and James Wise! But Joe Splitrock, Jim K.,  Nathan G. and many others have recently disappeared.

What frustrates me more is people who post a situation and people give advice etc. and they never tell you what ended up happening. Or advice given and no reply. Some of course are bots is my guess. For example people with no photo named barbara johnson, just post and its clearly AI and never comment back. Those are the type of things that drive me nuts.

maybe Barbara finally bought a note.. to me Vote ratio to post ratio does show individual quality or perceived quality posts. I recall when I first got on BP you had what i call the Welcome Wagon posters I know BP encouraged a certain amount of this.. But some would post the exact same thing every time and have a few thousand posts and maybe 50 votes.. Then you have others like @Mike Dymski whose numbers are inverted way more votes than posts as his replys were all quality..

AS one who is NOT on SM other than BP  IE no facebook or insta or tick tok or any of that stuff I am easily spoofed since I really dont know all teh protocols.. Heck I never new what a Troll was until I finally asked my kids :)  I think my staff has set that stuff up but I never use it.. I have a linkden but again only check it once in a blue moon .  Although if I was looking to really build my career or business I think I would engage there a lot as it tends to be what I see far more business oriented.. I would like to give Reddit a try sometime I have never been on that one either.

I read a lot of posts and generally reply when I have something that I believe to be useful to add.  I strive also to vote on quality posts and replies.  Currently I'm semi-retired not adding to my investments but rather working to add value and figure out best exit strategies.  After more than 30 years in real estate investing and closer to 40 years in construction related fields, I've decided to fully retire.

Sometimes I comment outside my sandbox mostly to learn and sometimes to give a perspective from where I have been.

@James Wise but the gurus teach you to post 5x a day selling something which they say works

when in reality showing you are an expert in something and giving it away for free and giving an answer vs telling someone "hey buy my program or go to this site complete ten forms then I will give you an answer" wins you a lot more business.
