Looking for a CPA experienced with real estate investors

Hey everyone - I’m starting the search for a good CPA and wanted to see if anyone here has recommendations.

I’m a real estate investor and mortgage lender based in Florida and want someone who really understands the investor side of things (rental properties, improvements, depreciation strategies, etc.)

Ideally looking for someone who:
• Works regularly with real estate investors
• Understands tax strategy, not just filing returns
• Is comfortable working with someone who has both lending income and investment properties

Open to someone local in Florida or remote if they’re great.

Thanks in advance!

@Tristan Pearrow

I recommend finding an accountant who specializes in real estate taxation and business taxation and is proactive instead of reactive when providing advice.

Working remotely with your accountant will expand your options. The best person for the job may not be local.

I would also recommend looking for an accountant who will work with you throughout the year. You want an accountant who can help you strategize and who is responsive when you want to know the consequences of the financial decisions you are making throughout the year.

Happy to answer any questions. Good luck.
