BiggerPockets Summit 2013 - Tentative Dates

Hey Everyone --
I wanted to get some feedback from you guys on something important . . .

I just got back from Austin, Texas for some meetings regarding the 2013 BP Summit. Don't get too excited yet, but we're definitely getting closer to making this thing a reality.

That said, I wanted some feedback from you all regarding the dates. At the moment, the dates that work best for us are September 5-7 for the event. Is there any reason why this won't work for everyone??

BTW - For those of you who want to keep up with the summit news, be sure to set up a keyword alert for the term "summit" (no quotes) and you'll be up with the latest.

    Well... I have a bowling tournament that week... Are you kidding? Any date works for Katherine and I if you are coming to Austin! I do like that you have it on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Those are great days for us.

    Hopefully the hotels do not kill on the room rates because of the weekend.

    Being self-employed the advantage of going during the week I get really cheap rates on travel. I understand many at the event will be 9 to 5'rs needing to trek on the weekends.

    Is this close to the Riverwalk?? My wife liked the Colorado idea so she could go see Aspen. In Texas I do not really know what there is for her to do. Usually she gets bored at these things. I can explain the ins and outs of real estate but she just likes shopping and looking at stuff and I lose her after about 10 seconds.... LOL

    Being a broker as well as an investor myself she is around it all the time everyday 24/7. She needs that shopping therapy to put up with my real estate madness and obsession................ : )

    the Riverwalk is in San Antonio which is a little over an hour away. Austin does have a river that runs through it and there is plenty of hiking, biking, kayaking along the river.

    I don't recall ever hearing a visitor complain about a lack of things to do in Austin. There's the University of Texas, the Capitol, 6th street, live music, rivers, lakes, good restaurants and plenty more.

    That weekend UT football will be playing away which is helpful in that traffic won't be as bad and hotels won't jack up their rates as if they were here.

    Only drawback will be that it will still be a bit hot here.
