How early does your average guest book?

Question

All answers welcome, however those in mountainous areas near large metros, how many days in advance does your average guest book?

I’m new to the game, our Dec. has 14 days booked currently, still with one weekend open. Really just more curious than anything, as to how many bookings are last minute (week of) vs a month+ ahead of time?

Most of our current bookings were inherited with the sale

Our booking lead time has greatly reduced but the holidays are mostly booked.

I don't take reservations for more than 48 hours in advance.  That's how long I'll hold a place.  I used to take reservations for a week or two in advance.  Everything is reserved but not everyone is here.  I get phone calls from people wanting a place to stay.  I have to turn them away. After a week or two the people that made reservations say their job has been pushed back a week.  The places sit empty for 3 or more weeks when they could have already been rented out.

My rental is on the east side of Yellowstone and fairly remote. We get most of our bookings 3-6 months in advance. We fill in the gaps with bookings 30 days in advance.

Depends on the property. One of ours books up almost a year in advance.

Another only book about 3-4 weeks in advance....but it always books up like clockwork.

Depends on time of year.  Off season a weekend or 2 to 4 days. 1 month or so in advance.

Summer - A week, 6 to 12 months in advance.

Our home is primarily booked 6 months to a year in advance. We also have some 2024 bookings, that makes them 18 months.

We do get 3 day stay bookings that fill in the calendar for spring/summer/fall that are usually 2 weeks to 1 month ahead of the arrival date.
