How Do You Stay Up To Date With STR Laws?

STR laws always seem to be evolving and changing, it seems like a full-time job just to stay up to date with the laws.

What systems, tactics, habits, etc have you found work well to keep up with the legal landscape of STRs in your area?

Do you work with a law firm? Do you have a VA constantly scouring legal sites? Do you use Google Alerts?

I'm curious to know what you do!

Thank you

Hey @Zackarias Aitchison, read and call. Read the minutes from city and county council meetings to see what was covered. Call them up and see how the wind is blowing.

Some areas are always under attack, some welcome STRs. Some have common sense regs and are solid, some are on their way to banning them.

For the most part, the bigger the city, the bigger the problems. Staying in vacation areas with strong visitor counts are your best bet.
