Airbnb - stopped showing tax collection

Did anyone else notice that Airbnb, in the last two weeks, decided to update their UI for guest booking details and stopped showing the tax amount?  Personally, I always like to see the tax broken out as to what was collected and is being reimbursed on my behalf since ultimately, I'm the one liable for tax payments.  It shows no where now.  It doesn't even show full guest payment anywhere (which includes guest taxes).  I called Airbnb and the ambassador I spoke with stupidly said it is lumped into the 15.5% fee I pay (Um, no, given my tourist / occupancy taxes amount to 11%, I am certain Airbnb is not eating that in their 15.5% fee).  How can they no longer disclose this?

Interesting. I'm going to look and see if mine is broken out or not.

I have occupancy and priperty ise tax shown.

I'm also only paying 3% Host Service fee.

I get 95% of my bookings from Vrbo so I don't scrutiinze the Airbnb fees.

Are you looking at it from a guest perspective? If you look at your recent settlements on Airbnb it no longer shows taxes. Airbnb just confirmed this to me that in fact, they made a change to stop showing it. So you also no longer see the first full payment (with taxes) and of course no notification to hosts.

Im looking at the host side as to full payment breakdown.

Interesting. Maybe it’s only for connected hosts? Do they pay taxes on your behalf? They did confirm this with me as a change.

I noticed this too.  I suppose since they figure they are collecting and remitting they do not need to show it to you.

That’s assuming you trust Airbnb to calculate it correctly.

Who doesn't trust Airbnb to do such things?! lol

If it makes you feel better Airbnb does collect and remit directly to the state and counties but the municipalities do not get a report of each property.  Its just a lump sum payment per their agreement with Airbnb - so if Airbnb were to make a mistake I don't see how it would fall back on to the individual owners.
