Hello BiggerPocket Community,

My name is Irving Vizcaino. I am new to Bigger Pockets community. I have been listening to the Bigger Pockets podcast for a couple years now. I have an analytical mindset and enjoy getting my hands dirty. This has triggered me to get some skin in the game and start to look at investment opportunities. Please, reach out if you have any partnership opportunities or any learning opportunities for me to continue to get familiar with Flips, BRRR,buy & hold or anything related to real estate. I am looking forward to expand my network with like-minded indivduals.

    Hi @Irving Vizcaino,

    Have you checked out the Boston Area Real Estate Investors group?  You can attend events and meetings for $20 before making the commitment to join.  That's what I have been doing and have already learned a lot, I think joining it (or a similar group) would be well worth the membership fee.

    @Irving Vizcaino welcome! Attending local meetups is a great way to learn the greater Boston real estate scene. We host 6 free monthly meetups in (MA & NH) called Pints & Properties and they’re posted here on the BP events tab. We just had our Waltham meetup last night and it’s a great place to find opportunities and potential partners. Real estate is a team sport,the stronger your team the easier real estate gets. Networking events are a great way to meet future team members. I recommend you try to attend 1 per week, and try a bunch of different ones. It’ll cost you some time but it’s an inexpensive way to get things started.

    @Irving Vizcaino Hi Irving! Welcome to BP! This is a phenomenal place to be to jump into real estate investing. The community/forums on Biggerpockets alone is worth its weight in gold and the support is like no other. I highly second @Jonathan Bombaci with attending REI meetups around the area to jumpstart your journey. One thing that will catapult you further along your real estate investing journey is growing your network and hearing as many folk's stories as you can. Put yourself out there, go out and tell people who you are, what you are looking to do (like you did above! :) ) and meet as many folks as you can. Your network is your net worth!

    I have found great success in going up to the search tab on Biggerpockets, Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, etc. and searching for real estate investors in the areas you are interested to invest in and shooting them a direct message telling them a little about you and asking to hear their real estate story and if they would be interested in connecting via a phone call, go out for coffee, etc. Most real estate investors are more than happy to jump on a call and see if there is any way that they can help you and vice versa. It truly is a team sport and this is the beginning, welcome!

    @Alanna Thompson No I have not checked out the Boston Area Real Estate Investor group. Where would I find that? 

    @Jonathan Bombaci Are you able to provide the link for the Pints & Properties so I can attend soon. From the books that I have read, I cannot agree any more regarding the team sport! I have found some events on Meetups that I plan on attending. Thanks for the tip
