Hello my name is Scott, I have been using my time here in Afghanistan to read and learn everything I can about real estate investing of all forms. Moving to CO soon where I plan on purchasing my first flip property. I hope to eventually have some sucess in this business, and the opportunity to flip many properties.
I am still very young, which i see as still plenty of time to make mistakes and recover from them. Anyone who would be willing to help me with advice, tips, or help in any form. Even just a first hand experience i would very much appreciate.
The birth of my son, who I will finally get to meet next month, has inspired me to really pursue a dream with a lot of determination so I can give him the world.

It is beautiful, i was lucky enough for my next assignment to be out there and I can not wait. Certainly somewhere I will enjoy starting with real estate.

@Scott Miller Welcome to Bigger Pockets. It is a great place to learn. Have you listened to the podcasts yet? That will educate on a lot of different strategies people pursue within Real Estate investing. The Beginner's Guide is also an awesome resource if you have read it yet...
I'm in the Springs and I've started to purchase buy-and-hold properties on the side. As you learn and come up with more specific questions, feel free to send me a message. There are plenty of people who know more than me, but I'm willing to share what I've learned so far.

Welcome to the Springs! I have one house that I'm renting and I've learned so much in the past 4 years. There are lots of good investments. When are you coming to the Springs?
Thank you for serving our country and giving up so much to do so. You must be excited to meet your son for the first time.
I've been looking for some real estate investors to meet and discuss problems and well as successes so we can learn from each other. I learned so much from my last renter--I had to evict him and learned alot from the process. I'm not planning on making the same mistakes twice---especially when there are so many new ones to make (hopefully not--that's why I'd like to meet other investors who are learning what to do, as well as what not to do).
When you get to town, spend some time with your beautiful baby boy and get to know him--and take you wonderful and patient wife out for a nice dinner.

@susan @micheal @eric I cant believe how long ago I posted this. I now live in the springs and have made my first purchase. I sort of lost touch with the site with personal life being so busy but finally getting back into the investing mind set. Anyone still up for meeting up? Hah
