Hello BiggerPockets community! I'm Alexandra from Tampa, Florida, newly passionate about real estate investing fand looking at buying my first home. I'm particularly passionate about house hacking.

Outside of real estate, I enjoy playing pickleball, paddleboarding, and learning about how to become financially independent.

Tampa is a great place to live and its rapidly growing in terms of population and new construction. I am over in Pinellas County, FL and we just hit an all time high for tourism. Just closed on a property in Hyde Park great opportunities for buyers right now.

I prefer to be closer to the Gulf Beaches there is more to do in terms of Beach, Boating, waterfront dining and more. Tampa is great for the nightlife and offers a lot of new places to wine/dine but the traffic can get a little crazy.  Downtown Tampa is the business hub and you cannot go wrong if your looking to get a job and be in the mix.

    House hacking in Tampa is a smart way to save on housing by buying a place with several units, living in one, and renting out the rest. You can pay for it with FHA loans or regular loans. Finding the right property, checking its worth, making connections, choosing good renters, looking after the place, and keeping money aside for surprises are key steps. To grow your money, plan your spending, save up, and find a balance between investing and enjoying your hobbies.

    Congrats on taking the first step into the journey that is real estate investing! House hacking is how I started, and it is an amazing tool to get started. I HIGHLY recommend you connect with a local expert like @Josh Green, who practices what he preaches. He has done a few house hacks and will be an invaluable resource for you in that market. :)
