New Investor from Birmingham, Alabama looking to learn and connect

Lee Allen
Posted

Hi everyone!

I’m Lee Allen, and I’ve been lurking on the forums and listening to the podcast for a while—finally decided to jump in. I’m based in Birmingham, Alabama, and am currently focused on house hacking.

My goal for the next 12 months is to acquire several coliving properties. I’d love to connect with anyone local who is experienced in the Birmingham area or the South-East, or anyone who has tips on getting started in this specific market.

Looking forward to learning from you all and contributing where I can!

Best,
Lee Allen

Hi @Lee Allen

Birmingham is a market a lot of investors like for the same reasons they like Memphis: relatively affordable prices, solid rental demand, and opportunities to find cash-flowing deals.

If you're planning to get into coliving, I'd focus heavily on understanding your tenant base and the operational side of the business. The real estate matters, but good management is usually what makes or breaks a coliving model.

Best of luck!
