Greetings,

It was suggested I introduce myself so here it is. A Southern Gal now living in DC since 2008. Busy, energetic, passionate individual who gives so much with no regrets. I joined the community to become an INVESTOR. Current goals is to locate a live-in flip and/or a primary residence below market that I could sell within 1-2 years. My interest are flips and buy and hold properties within the DMV and NC. Studying for Real Estate Licensing for DC--expected completion September 2015. I look forward to connecting with others and sharing resources I have!

    @Georggetta Howie, from one North Caroliner to another, welcome to BP.  Good luck to you in your search and ambitions.  BiggerPockets is a great place to pick up a wealth of knowledge about RE Investment.  Dig in and you can't help but learn a lot.

    Like you, I'm looking to purchase an undervalued DC property in the near future.

    Georggetta,

    Congrats on making the decision to jump into RE. It can be one of the most lucrative things, from both the Real Estate agent side, and the investing side.

    I just completed my license last month so I'm relatively fresh to the agent side of things. Let me know if you have any questions about the process of getting your license and I"ll be happy to answer!

     Thank You Jamal, I have tons of questions, always will. Its just how my mind works. As for agent side, I'm making a list of prospective brokers, did you find a broker that supported your investing interest and goals?

     I lived in Mooresville, Kannapolis growing up. Winston Salem the 5 years before I left NC.

When doing other tasks, like driving or redundant desk work, be sure to check out the podcasts, as they also provide great information (from experienced investors). I hope you have had a smooth transition into the area. Have you narrowed down where you want to do your live in flip?

    Thank you for your warm welcome. I had considered MD actually ..temple hills, Hyattsville..214 side of Bowie and deanwood area of D.C.. I have read so much and definitely energized because of it.     Oh wow thanks!!! I'm moving to Bowie, so I'm definitely biased toward that area. I actually know of a great investment that's on about 3 acres gated with a decent size home that would make for an excellent flipping opportunity.
