Hello, my name is Jacob Gansert. I currently live in Overland Park, KS. I have limited experience in real estate. Primarily, I have done minor projects at my parents house (building a deck, cementing a patio, renovating a closet/bathroom, painting) and at the rentals I lived in during college. I am currently a Mechanical Engineer, and I practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in my spare time.
Long term, I would like to build passive income through buy and hold properties to eventually replace my work income. Short term, I would like to learn more about the entire process so that I am more informed as I go to buy my first property later this year.
Thank you to all the members for the great, informative posts.

Welcome to BP @Jacob Gansert I suggest you listen to some of the pod casts available on this site. You should also look into attending some of the local REI meetings/clubs to start networking.
Welcome to Bigger Pockets. BP is full of resources. You will find resources here from blogs to pod casts and forums. You can also send messages to members. This is one of my favorite features of Bigger Pockets especially for asking specific questions.
