Hello BP!
My family and I are finally back in Ohio! We're looking for single family or multi family deals in central Ohio college towns like Westerville, Delaware, Granville, Gambier, Yellow Springs and Ashland. We've done 3 deals total, but just 1 in Ohio (the house in which we currently live and are improving for future rent.)
Would love to chat with other central Ohio investors and real estate community members.
I wish I could help you @Harvey Yergin IV. I'm from a bit south in Cincinnati. I've only been to Delaware once and it was just to visit my sister when she lived up there and just from my memory it seemed not the type of area I would be interested in. But that was also 15 years ago, so completely unhelpful.
What about going closer to THE Ohio State University? The statistics office of the university say that the main campus had 58,663 for fall of 2015. There are probably deals to be had there.
@Harvey Yergin IV I am from Delaware, but I have yet to find a lot of single family / multi-family deals this way, most barely meet the 1% rule, if that. Not to say there are not some good deals this way, and that you wouldn't make money for long term buy and hold. But I have not just had a lot of luck finding anything I would consider incredibly mind blowing. YMMV
