I'm Jason from the Spokane area, I am 22, almost 23 years old with zero real estate experience. I am a commercial truck driver.
I've been extremely interested in becoming a real estate investor for a long time.
I found BP while doing some basic research on buying rental property, I lurked for a while and finally made an account. I've started listening to the podcast and am current on episode 10. I love it so far, such a great resource .
My goals: I plan on buying my first property with a FHA loan and house hack it. I'm looking at triplexes and quadplexes.
I have 2k saved currently. I can currently save 300 per week minimum. I've been looking at property online to get a feel for the market and see a lot of mfh listed for 140 to 200~ in my area.
I am here for the great advice and to start my network .
I know after I post this I will think of more to say.
You are in a good market to invest in...keep saving and move into a 4 plex. Then resave and do it again and again. Take advantage of getting the owner occupied financing as long as you can! I was able to do it 3 times and kept each home as a rental after moving into my next one. Just one way to get started...
Welcome Jason. I've been investing full time in this market since 07'. I love talking shop so feel free to hit me up anytime.
Welcome @Jason Wyatt this is the best place to learn everything and anything about REI.
@Jason Wyatt Keep learning, read, identify a niche of REI you want to focus in then meet local RE investors and develop relationships with those that are succeeding in that niche. Save and invest as much as you can, everything about REI is easier the better your balance sheet becomes.
Welcome to BP and good luck!
I plan on doing exactly that. For the first three just like you did. Occupy a unit for one year and then move out, my parents are very generous and allow me to keep my room at their house. Stack that cash flow and look for the next deal. I'll keep my full time job and keep saving for the next one. Rinse and repeat.
Thanks for the welcome see ya around.
Glad someone from the area was able to chime in ! I would love to talk you once I have some capital and see your thoughts on our market . I'm not super familiar with every neighborhood in Spokane but am a quick study. I know their are some revitalization happening. I'll message you sometime in the future and chew your ear.
Thank you for the warm welcome!
Thanks for the reply!
I plan to absorb as much as I can and learn from everyone here.
Two things I never stop doing are reading and learning. Before I do anything I try to read as much as possible before I take any action. I am currently in saving mode and am excited once I can start the actual investing .Their is so much to learn, I know I'm bound to make mistakes but that is just part of the journey .
Thanks for the welcome!
