Hi Bigger Pockets community my name is Dorian Wood and I am new to the bigger pockets community. My wife and I are passionate about getting started in real estate and first learned about bigger pockets from listening to the podcasts. We live in Dallas, TX and are looking to invest here locally. We currently are educating ourselves on real investing strategies, optimizing our finances and building up our network.

Real Estate Goals: We want to purchase a one to four unit property here in Dallas, TX within the next 4 months using the BRRRR strategy.

@Dorian Wood Hi Dorian, I'm new to Real Estate Investing too. That's awesome to hear that both you and your wife are getting ready to buy your first property! If you don't mind me asking - What gave you the confidence to set that goal? i.e. how'd you overcome that initial fear.

Nathan you asked a good question. I think what has given me courage to invest in real estate is that I am more afraid of not being financially free than I am of investing. I think the ladder is less scary. Also the more I learn the more confidence I gain.

Welcome Dorian. I recently moved back to TX for a job in Dallas. However, the RE market in Dallas seems so competitive I chose to live well away from the city. I hope it works out for you.

Hi Bart,
I own my personal residents here in Dallas and wasn't planning on moving and living in the property. But I do know the house hacking strategy can be a good way to start investing.
