New to bigger pockets

Hello everyone , new to BiggerPockets and been in Maryland for 1 year now , I believe this is the place I will live for the next 6 years and I’m looking to house hack in silver spring maybe Gaithersburg Maryland  in this expensive market . Hopefully I can buy a property within the next year in a area that I want to and cut cost on my overall renting budget . I read a few real estate investing books , YouTube videos , podcast and I think it’s time to pull the trigger .  Also if anyone had any suggestions in Maryland let me know thanks .
