Thank You for the warm welcome Nathan!! Many Thanks for the helpful information as well. I would love to see your book recommendations. I was going to post the books that I have read once I compile the list.

Biggerpockets has a good selection of books.
How To Invest In Real Estate is a good general overview
The Book On Investing With No (And Low) Money Down has good information on the different ways to fund investments
Buy, Rehab, Rent, Refinance, Repeat covers the BRRRR method that is talked about in just about every podcast
Long Distance Real Estate Investing teaches you how to invest when you're not in the same market. This could be handy since you're deployed.
The Book On Managing Rental Properties is important because you have to know how to manage what you've got. Even if you hire a property manager, this will help you understand how it works and how to find a better property manager. My personal favorite in this category is Every Landlord's Legal Guide by NOLO because it is chock full of practical advice and includes all the state-specific laws. They also have a good website with lots of information that is state-specific.
I also like The Unofficial Guide To Real Estate Investing by Martin Stone.
Many more but that should be enough to get started with!
