Hello BiggerPocket Peeps!

I'm Lynn Currie, I'm from Austin, and I'm thrilled to have found BiggerPockets.

My real estate history goes back a ways. In college, I read books about real estate investing and, even though I had absolutely no money, that's initially where I got the itch.

Upon graduation instead of getting an apartment, I decided to put my rent money against a mortgage, found a house I could afford, and ended up in a little fixer-upper on the south end of town. I lived in that house until the love-bug moved me to another house a little more central. At that point, my first house became a rental. I was on my way!

Slowly but surely, since then I've acquired more properties, both residential and commercial, through a couple of different business partnerships.

Currently, my focus is on development. I'm buying houses in close to downtown neighborhoods and either tearing down and rebuilding, or remodeling. As an Austinite that absolutely loves this city, it's important to me that the houses I build are neighborhood appropriate. That leads me to building properties that I like to call "Trodern" - a little more traditional on the outside so that they look like they belong in the post WW2 bungalow neighborhoods that I tend to buy in, but contemporary on the inside.

I'm excited to find BiggerPockets for a couple of reasons.

First, I'm a bit of a nerd. This means that I tend to love diving in and being a part of forums and online communities. I'm that person that actually spends hours reading posts from way back. Online communities tend to become my 'rabbit hole.'

Second, I love to read and learn about real estate stuff. I've been looking for an online real estate community for a while but most of the others I've found have been high on spam, low on community. From reading these forums, it's obvious that this is a place to meet, learn and help others learn. I'm super stoked by this and looking forward to making new online connections.

I'm looking forward to what is to come!
