Hey everybody!
My name is Michael Attaway, and I am a new member from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. My background is in the music field, and I work as a performer and teacher. I've had a long fascination with real estate and passive income, and I'm excited to get started! My wife and I have no properties, yet, and we have yet to do any deals. We're about as new as it gets!
We joined a local REIA, and we've been attending classes. From that, we feel like we have a good grasp on the basic concepts, but I know that there is a lot of learning that happens through taking action.

Welcome aboard, Michael. We have a good number from DFW and occasionally we do meet ups. Be sure to set up key word alerts with terms like "Dallas" and "Roanoke" so you won't miss conversations about areas of interest.

Always good to have more Texans! I'm also a musician, but likely a much different genre. Looking over your profile, I see that you have some very ambitious goals. More power to you! Do you have you have an "action" plan together of how you're going to get there yet?

Which reia have you been going to? I've been to a few, and am looking into a few others. Would love to hear feedback on your experience with that.
My guitar teacher is a closet real estate investor too-- what's up with you guys?

Jerry Puckett: Great to see another musician! I am a Classically trained trumpet player, and I mainly play in local churches, for weddings, and other concert-type venues. Do you play an instrument yourself?
The action plan that I have (and may be changed) is to do buy and hold investing. Right now, we have great credit and good income, but we have no money to invest. So, I have been looking at ways to wholesale properties to get that initial seed money. I don't really see myself staying in the wholesale area, though. My wife and I have a huge interest in flipping houses, but again, we need seed money to get that started.
By the way, I really enjoyed your interview on the recent podcast!

Tom Lafferty: We joined an organization called Lifestyles Unlimited back in February, and they have been great! The have a lot of great vendors to work with, and the education that they provide has been fantastic!

It's been great to hear from different successful investors and hear the wide range of stories associated with them. I downloaded your ebook recently, and I'll definitely check out the "Beginner's Guide..." unless they are the same thing?

I play guitars, bass, keyboards and sing for 2 Christian Bands. One of them actually the Praise and Worship team of my Church. Not classically trained but have a great ear.
Your plan sounds solid. I'm not overly enthusiastic about Lifestyles, and there are several wholesaling outfits around town that you'll want to watch out for, but your goals are definitely achievable. Learn to do every bit of your own due diligence.
