@Chris Clothierall depends on part of town and what culture out of mixed salad you want to try. So many different pizza styles but most very unique to the city.  Always great to eat in Chinatown or Manny's in South Loop.  Tons of Italian everywhere.

    Awesome and thanks for responding.  I am out by O'Hare airport for a couple of nights, but with Uber would have no problem checking something out that is not near here.

    @Chris ClothierNear Ohare you have Gene & Juds in River Grove for best hot dogs.  Russell's in Elmwood Park for ribs.  Both Uner ride away. Lou Malanatis for deep dish in Park Ridge for pizza.

    The Capital Grille (in Rosemont) is an excellent restaurant with awesome steaks. Its right by OHare.  Cant go wrong with anything they have there.

    Nicks Fish Market (also in Rosemont) if you like seafood.

    Also check out MB Financial Park in Rosemont. Its like a small village for dining and shopping with a bunch of great bars restaurants all grouped together.

    All of the above are about 5 mins from OHare as is a relatively new casino if you are into that.

    Definitely Lou Malanati's...Bar Louie on Cumberland near Bryn Mawr is near the airport. Nice atmosphere, good food.

    Then  you have Haray Caray's, Ditkas,... all steak places for the tourists

    If you want, in your words, a great taste of Chicago then get in that uber. Or for a little extra Chicago experience take the blue line to logan square, wicker park or downtown. You could spend a few hours in one of those areas getting great food and drinks and walking around sucking in all the glory that is Chicago.

    Definitely check out Momotaro for sushi.  If you're in a mood for pizza then try Pequods in Lincoln Park.  I'm a fan of Mastros Steak, careful the atomic horseradish will have you crying all night.  If you like seafood then head over to C Chicago.  If you have a sweet tooth like me then try out Glazed and Infused - bacon donuts are the best!
