    Depends on when you say complete rehab- are you talking down to the studs? I have done deals for as little as 75,000 to as high as 500,000. Wide range figuring out what direction you want to go in terms of luxury and size.

    @Raymond Hill

    Hard to say with no details given. Gotta know full level of rehab along with sq. footage etc.

    Rhode Island $100 per square ft Massachusetts $200 Per square foot Obviously it will depend upon the level of finishes and the square footage. Massachusetts and Rhode Island are two different markets completely

    @Robert Nason Do you have some examples from past projects? That sounds really high. I've heard from people who do condo conversions that they average anywhere from $100-$150/sqft.

    I'm doing a renovation in Kennebunkport Maine that is costing 160 a sq ft  A few years ago I was building  an 18 unit apartment building that was at 175 per sq ft.

    Often times a renovation can be more costly than new construction.  If the contractor is telling you it will be $150 a square foot, you could almost be guaranteed it's going to end up being closer to $175 a square foot

    My apologies guys. Here are some details. Let's say the property has more than just the nuts and bolts and the shell of the house. Let's say its a foreclosure property. With the foreslcosure property the living sq foot is 1,640 and the house needs a remodel kitchen, (2) bathroom, (3) bedrooms raised ranch. Needs updated electrical and new baseboard heating system.
