About to start a full rehab. Just wondering what an average installation of vinyl planks would be including ripping up the existing floor and leveling out the floor. Seems like most big companies start at $1.50-$2.00/ square foot.

@Jay Thomas thanks! I was looking at this tool the other day as well. Do you think ripping out the existing floor and leveling would be an additional charge on top of these numbers or would that all be included?

You're probably going to pay at least as much for prep if not more depending on what's on and underneath the floor today. For vinyl plank flooring, the prep work is the key. The quotes above are realistic, you could be as high as $3/sq ft.
That type of floor works very well for out of level/slight slopes since its very flexible, but any perfection underneath (e g small hole or bump) is going to show thru. Its not like carpet or even laminate where you can just do a decent job and then install over it. If you're going to do any work yourself, I'd do the install rather than the prep work. Its super easy to install and goes in very quickly if you're laying it over a flat surface with no imperfections.

$3/sf is just install. Removal and prep is different line item. There’s no way to tell how much it will cost to level the floor, if it’s couple spots, could be a throw in, if it is 1/2” and 200 spots then it’s an issue.
