Lots of requests for mid term rentals

Lots of requests for mid term rentals

We have been getting a lot of requests for mid term rentals. We have basically switch some of our properties from short term Airbnb’s to mid term rentals.

Currently looking to buy the next property to help accommodate some of the requests we are getting.

Anyone else getting these type of requests for mid term stays?

Yes, but that's our whole business model, so it's not terribly surprising to us. :)

You're in the right forum to learn about MTRs. While a lot of STRs, and properties in general, can work as an MTR, really nailing down who you'd like to serve can absolutely help guide your purchase decision on your next property.

Best of luck!

    Yes, our property management company handles STR, MTR, and LTR units. We're based in Indianapolis, and during the winter months, we transition some of our STRs to MTRs to try and keep up occupancy rates. We use Furnished Finder to list our MTRs and typically attract traveling healthcare professionals as tenants. Most of our properties are located near downtown hospitals, making them an ideal choice for these renters. We've found that traveling healthcare professionals are typically great tenants—responsible, clean, and reliable.

      How do you get in contact with medical professionals? Only use furnished finder? Do you call the hospitals and let them know? Talk to the recruiter and let them know of your services? I live in Raleigh NC and I am trying to get a pulse for the mid-term market here to make sure its a viable strategy for REI.

    Most of my properties are already MTR, but I'd say I get more inquiries about them than I do my STR or LTR. As the popularity grows and people become more nomadic, I think we're going to see more and more of this. It's one of the reasons I love this MTR niche.

    I am about an hour north up in Sheboygan Falls and I have seen many mid term rentals on the market and it doesn't seem like they are getting rented out.  I do all long term but its something I have noticed when doing research on setting rent prices.

    I agree with most people in this forum that mid-term rentals are on the rise and gaining popularity. We see many travel or remote workers looking for flexibility with their stays, such as healthcare workers.

    @Gabriel Williams,

    I also invest in Racine, we buy and hold primarily multi-family long term rentals.  I am in the middle of flipping a duplex and have been considering keeping it as a str/mtr.  If I keep it as a long term rental I wont recoup my investment for 21 months. I would love to connect if your free to chat. If the numbers support keeping it I will otherwise I am listing it 7-1-25.
