A lead can look amazing on paper and still end up being a complete time drain once the calls actually start.
Bad owner matches. Wrong numbers. LLCs with messy ownership. Five phone numbers and no clue which one is real. Leads that technically fit the filters but never go anywhere.
Meanwhile, another “less exciting” lead ends up producing an actual conversation almost immediately because the ownership/contact side is cleaner.
Honestly feels like a lot of outbound teams are optimizing list pulling and skip tracing… but not optimizing what happens AFTER the data comes back.
I’ve actually been testing a prioritization/contactability process around this lately, and it’s been interesting seeing how different the “best lead operationally” can be from the “best lead on paper.”
Curious if others are seeing the same thing: Are your callers wasting more time on bad data, bad prioritization, or just too much noise overall?
I am not sure where people are getting their data but I consistently get messages and texts on properties that i have not owned for years but never on the ones that I actually currently own...
That’s actually a really good example of the disconnect I’m talking about.
A lot of outbound systems seem optimized around returning data instead of validating whether the ownership/contact picture is still reliable.
If someone is consistently getting contacted on properties they sold years ago, that usually means stale ownership matching is creating noise somewhere in the workflow.
Yeah the contact side is usually where the real time sink is, not the list filters. Owner of record is an LLC, LLC points to a registered agent, registered agent is a service company. Three skips deep before you get to a human, and half the time the number that connects is a relative.
