As I'm starting my real estate investing practice, I am constantly seeking other real estate investors. I attended my first REIA event here in Central Florida this past Wednesday and was able to meet some people. Any suggestions on to where to find other investors besides Bigger Pockets and REIA?
Also, getting in contact with reliable general contractors is a problem that I have been facing for the past 3 weeks. I am wondering if anyone around this area would know of a good company?
You are in luck, Robyn Thompson just started a REIA in Orlando within the last 3 months. She is one of the best speakers in the country, and her group is in your back yard. I cant remember the name of her club but you need to find it. There will be a ton of investors there.
@David Pupo CFRI and also Robyn Thompson's group are great resources. As far as a general contractor, I've only met one that I can introduce you to. But I haven't worked with him yet. I have no problem introducing you though. There is one that many of the Osceola CFRI members keep raving about. I can find out more about him at tomorrow's meeting.

Certainly sounds like a great additional resource to look into! In regards to the contractor problem, I've had bad luck and next to nothing in responses.
