Real Estate Bookkeeper from the Philippines – Happy to Connect!
Hi everyone! I'm Chie from the Philippines. I work remotely in US rental property bookkeeping, including rent tracking, reconciliations, utility billing and financial reporting.
I joined BiggerPockets to connect with real estate investors and property owners, learn more about the challenges they face in managing rental finances, and share insights from my bookkeeping experience.
I'm curious: what's the biggest challenge you face when keeping your rental property records organized?
Welcome, Rotchie! Keeping rental records organized can definitely become a challenge as a portfolio grows, especially tracking expenses and making sure everything is categorized correctly. Glad to have you here and looking forward to seeing your insights!
Welcome to BP, @Rhotchie Jayno ! It’s great to have someone with your rental bookkeeping experience in the community. As a CPA and real estate investor, I’ve seen how quickly recordkeeping can become challenging as a portfolio grows—especially when separating personal and property expenses, tracking transactions by property, and gathering complete records from property managers and contractors. Staying on top of monthly reconciliations makes tax time much smoother and gives owners a clearer picture of how each property is performing. I’m sure your experience will bring a lot of value to the conversations here.
I completely agree. One of the biggest challenges I've encountered in rental property bookkeeping is keeping tenant payment records accurate and making sure everything reconciles, especially when payment updates come from different sources.
It's great to connect with a CPA and fellow real estate professional here. I'm looking forward to learning from your experience and exchanging insights!
@Rhotchie Jayno Welcome, Chie! Great to see another professional from the Philippines in the real estate space. Your bookkeeping experience can be a huge asset to investors.
I’d be happy to connect as well. I work on the lending side and can be a resource when you or your investor clients are looking for financing for their next rental or investment property. Feel free to reach out anytime!
Thank you, Brad! I appreciate the warm welcome. I'd be happy to connect and build relationships with fellow real estate professionals. Likewise, if I come across investors looking for financing, I'll be glad to keep you in mind!

Thank you, Ashley! Absolutely—keeping rental records organized becomes even more important as a portfolio grows. I’m excited to connect with other real estate investors here and share what I’ve learned from working with rental property accounting. Looking forward to being part of the community!

@Rhotchie Jayno, from the landlord and legal side, one challenge I see is when important records are spread across different places. Everything may seem fine while the rental is running smoothly, but when a tenant issue or another question comes up, suddenly everyone is trying to find a lease, payment record, notice, or other document.
I’ve worked with landlords where having clear and organized records made it much easier to understand what happened and what needed to be done next. I always appreciate when the financial records and the property documents tell the same story because it gives everyone something clear to work from.
I like that you asked this question, Chie. Bookkeeping may be a different side of the business from my real estate legal work, but good recordkeeping definitely affects both. Happy to stay connected and exchange perspectives here.
Thank you, Diana! I really appreciate your perspective. I completely agree that keeping the financial and property records organized can make a big difference when questions or issues come up. I’d be happy to stay connected and exchange perspectives as well!
Welcome, Chie! I’m new to BiggerPockets too, and my bookkeeping business also focuses on real estate investors. It’s nice to connect with someone with a shared interest—I look forward to learning alongside you and exchanging insights!
