New to Property Management

Property Manager · St. Louis, MO · Member since 2026 · 8 posts · 2 votes

Hello, BP community. My name is Mark Morrison. I have been in commercial real estate the last 9 years and have made the switch to the property management side. I work for Intersection Real Estate in St. Louis, MO and was brought on as a Business Development Manager to increase the amount of properties we manage. I am looking forward to networking and learning from the professional real estate community on BiggerPocket.

Thanks!

@Mark Morrison Welcome to the community, Mark! Your commercial real estate background should be a great asset in property management. If you’re connecting with owners looking to acquire, refinance, or grow their portfolios, I’d be happy to connect and help with lending options. Looking forward to networking!

Welcome, @Mark Morrison. Your move into property management caught my attention because I work with landlords regularly, and I see firsthand how much a good property manager can affect the owner’s experience. A lot of problems are much easier to handle when communication and documentation have been solid from the beginning.

I’ve had landlord matters where we needed to go back through leases, notices, payment records, and communication with the tenant to figure out what happened. When the property manager has kept everything organized and followed a consistent process, it makes the legal side much easier when an issue does come up.

Your commercial real estate background should give you an interesting perspective as you move further into property management, @Mark Morrison. I’m a real estate attorney and investor in Maryland, so our work crosses into a lot of the same landlord and property issues. Happy to connect and exchange perspectives.
