Hello all and happy Saturday!
The weekends here and I’m able to slow down to gather myself. I figured why not join the BP forums and connect with others who may have at one point been in my situation or are currently navigating it. I can’t be the only one, right?
I’m unsure where to post my story and seek advice. Feel free to point me in the right direction.

@Camilo Suarez Welcome to BiggerPockets! You’re definitely not alone, and this is a great place to learn and connect. Feel free to share your story, and if financing becomes part of the journey, I’d be happy to help with lending options as well.
This is a great place with tons of knowledge. If you’re new to real estate I’d explore the different ways to invest in real estate! Get a feel for what you’re interested in and then ask some questions!
Here are a couple to name a few:
Buy and Hold: Buying for long term
House Hacking: Buying a property to live in and rent out extra rooms.
Fix and Flip: Renovate a property to resell
Wholesale: Find deals for investors and they pay you a finders fee
BRRRR: Buy, Rehab, Rent, Refinance, Repeat
As a plumber if you have any questions on sewer scopes, water heater, or anything else plumbing or renovation wise I’d be more than happy to help!
Welcome to BP! There’s no doubt about that as most investors have gone through that phase of “Where do I begin?” Tell us a bit about yourself and your situation and I’m sure you’ll gain some valuable insight from people who have already been there.

Welcome, Camilo! If your goal is retirement and financial freedom, I’d start by getting really good at analyzing deals and then actually doing it. You don’t have to limit yourself to Atlanta either. If you’re open to investing out of state, the Midwest is worth looking at for lower entry points and different cash flow opportunities.

@Camilo Suarez, you’re definitely not the only person who has started with the question of “Where do I even begin?” Before choosing between rentals, flips, house hacking, or another strategy, I’d first get clear on what you want real estate to do for you and how involved you actually want to be. That can help narrow down which direction is worth learning more about.
I’m an attorney, broker, and investor, and I’ve worked with people at very different stages of their real estate journey. One thing I’ve noticed is that the right approach for one person may make no sense for another. Your finances matter, but so do your timeline, risk tolerance, family plans, and whether you want to actively manage properties or take a more hands off approach.
I’d be interested to hear more about your situation and what retirement and financial freedom look like for you, @Camilo Suarez. A lot of my work involves helping investors think through the legal and ownership side once they know where they want to go. Happy to stay connected as you figure out your next step.
