Great podcast on many levels. I thought I might correct one thing that was said. Ryan prefaced a comment by saying he wasn’t religious but then erroneously stated what Christians believe. He said, “The Christians would say, ‘You shouldn’t do bad things because if you do bad things God will judge you and then you’ll go to hell.'” (~10:10) As a Christian I thought I might provide the truth of the matter. The Bible is clear that “all have sinned…” So, if we all have sinned, how is there any chance for any of us to go to heaven, if Ryan is correct? As a matter of fact, we’re all sinners because we inherited that from Adam (thanks, Adam!). In the first part of the Bible or in the Torah, you’ll see that God gave the Jews a sacrificial system that allowed their sins to be cleansed. Later, Jesus, the son of God, left his place in heaven to be born as a man, live a perfect life and then die on a cross. He was buried and then resurrected to life and seen by many. His death and resurrection was the sacrifice of all sacrifices paving a way for humans to be “saved” from their sins. Salvation from the curse of sin and Hell is a complete gift, “not of works, so no one can boast.” In other words, I can’t be good enough to “earn” eternal life. I can only attain it by trusting in Jesus’ sacrifice. By the way, at the end of his comment Ryan said, “Right?” (which he did after many of his comments) and Josh followed with “right” meaning you agreed. And, Brandon didn’t say anything. I would have thought that as long as the two of you had worked together (Jew and Christian) you may have had this conversation and at least Josh would know the correct stance! Again, this was a very good podcast episode. Thanks for doing what you do!
