On a side note, I am a PNW native but now live in TX...much, much better here. 

If governments are quick to react and contain people with the virus, allowing people to continue to work, then I think a recession could be avoided (at least for a little bit). 

Obviously there is no crystal ball which can predict how the job market reacts in the event of an unforeseen catastrophic event like the GFC.
