I'm new to real estate investing and don't have much for my first down payment. I spent some time in the military though and qualify for a VA home loan. So I don't need to put any money down for a down payment. I was just wondering if anyone has gone down this route and what your experience was like?
Hey Adam, there are lots of investors that got started with no money down loans. I did a USDA loan on my first property and house hacked and have been here for the last year, the biggest thing is that I rented out 3 of the 4 rooms which pays my mortgage and puts a little cash in my pocket each month, could be advantageous for you for sure!
@Adam the VA loan can be a great tool to get you started as a real estate investor! Have you thought about house hacking a duplex, triplex, or four-plex with the VA loan? What market are you investing in?
