No from what I understand from the US Embassy about the only way I can get there is to find a company who is willing to sponsor the visa for employment. Your immigration laws take people from other countries much easier than your Northern neighbours.
There are many Canadians who would move south in a heartbeat and not because some places are warmer weather.

@Meghan McCallum I think all of that sounds great. I wouldn't even necessarily need a bed. I have a collapsible hammock I use on the beach.... I mean my office. Me moving state to state, and with your MTV intern/television ((passion?)) We could start a TV show, Only furthering our reach, profit, ideas, and ability to give back.... you could be on to something here..

@Ginny Nelson TN is still an option but you need to have a sponsoring employer, and the position needs to fall within one of the NAFTA professions. Our founding attorney is a dual Canadian citizen, we have a good deal of experience with TNs and other employment-based visas (H-1B, etc). Given that the TN owes its existence to NAFTA, it is much more vulnerable to unilateral executive action than say, the H-1B. Like it or not Trump seems like he's doing everything he can to keep the promises he made during his campaign, one of which was to eliminate NAFTA.
How about someone to run and maintain your servers, workstations, and network? I would love to do what I do for you guys while learning to be the greatest investor in the world!
Depending on the "profession", Canadians have the option (at least for the moment) of a NAFTA TN visa to work in the U.S.A. The TN process is less cumbersome and there is no limit to the number of TN visas available to an individual.

Ok now I get what you are saying and we are referring to the same thing. From what I understand if I have a sponsor from an employer I can get down there which is what you are saying.
So really what I need to do is find companies who do this. I suspect my skills fall into these areas as I have a few...business intelligence..business analyst/Project management..data/financial analyst/mgr..customer experience etc..I'm both business and tech both worker and management...
Is there any place to find these companies that you know of? I do know it was easier before than now to get to the US but the US is still better than Canada.
I'm tired of paying for people who abuse our social system and I get nothing plus having a PM who is a complete idiot and is stealing Canadian money and forcing our ecoomy to collapse.
As someone who has been doing business in both Canada and the U.S.A. for almost 30-years, I see them as different with each having their strengths and weaknesses.
As for your political prod, it really has no place in the current forum ...

Sorry I wasn't bringing in political opinions and yes Canada & US are different in many ways but not all. It's my personal preference to live & work in the US that was my point based on my likes & wants.

@Mindy Jensen, @Ginny Nelson is from Canada, and I assume a canadian citizen, can work in the US with a TN visa. Lot easier than trying to get a h1-b. off topic for this site, but an fyi.

I'd love to be a substitute show host! I've been told I've got a great face for radio. ;-)
Seriously though, any excuse to move back to Colorado works for me. Seems like a good time to get back into residential contracting out there.
