As you can probably tell, we just deployed the newest version of BiggerPockets with an improved navigation and layout.

For highlights a link to our tour video, please see this post.

We've put a lot of time into testing these changes, and do believe that they bring a better user experience overall.

Before you start yelling at me about it, let it marinade a bit.

Finally, if you do happen to find any new bugs or glitches, please let us know ASAP. We've got lots of great new things coming to the site soon . . . this is just the beginning!

Enjoy!

Max - Thanks for the screenshot - I noticed the same thing earlier today and made a ticket for it.

Quick note for everyone -- we're taking today/tomorrow off from development (unless some major crisis happens), so it'll be Wednesday before we get to any of these design tweaks. 12 hour days on the weekend take their toll on you.

As for being an active admin -- part of the difference is that this site is my business; I'm not just the site admin.

I'm glad that the response so far has been overwhelmingly positive... I hope that everyone helps spread the word by Tweeting, sharing on Facebook, or using their own sites to blog about the new-improved BP!

In fact, for those members with their own websites, I'll throw in a free 1-month trial to BP PRO if you write a review about the new-Improved BP! Any takers?

I'll bite on that! It's not the best fit for our investment website, but when the blogs roll out on the brokerage site (tentative to within a month), I'd be happy to show my support for the site, Pro membership or not. I'll be sure to shoot you an email when we get it online.

Thanks Max! When you do get your company's site set up, be sure to submit it to our Companies directory -- then all your employees can link their BP profile to the company profile -- more free exposure fore the biz.

BTW - Hopefully you'll upload a personal profile pic sometime soon so we can all get to see ya.

Douglas - Thanks. What do you mean you can't link to it from your favorites? That's a browser thing, no? What is happening?

    Josh,
I am still having an alignment problem.
When I scroll over the Gray bar that has the functions like profile, networking, etc, the drop down menu shows up on the far right side of the screen. (Sorry but I do not know how to get a screen shot of that.) I am running Windows 7 and IE 8 or 9 or whatever the latest version is.
Of course, the drop down menu disappears as soon as I attempt to move my mouse to the right side of the screen to toggle on something like update profile or accept a colleague request.
    Thanks
    Chris

Chris - Check out this post:
Found a Bug or Site Problem? Let us Know! Here's How - then go to the bottom of my post and follow the instructions for using http://www.screenr.com/ to take a screencast of the issue as it happens. Once you do, PM me the link . . .

The site is noticeably faster now in many places.

I am still having many alignment issues with Google Chrome on Windows 7.

Chris - We'll have a look again at the issues next week. Can you tell me the EXACT browser and version you're using as well as the operating system/version. Without that info we may not be able to trace this.

Bryan - Please provide me with screenshots or a screencast demonstrating the issues you're facing along with the EXACT browser and version you're using as well as the operating system/version.

    Thanks.

    IE 9.0.1
Windows 7 Ultimate (Version 6.1 Build 7601 Service pack 1)
Is this the data that you need?

Ok Chris - We definitely worked on the issue, but with your info we can specifically check using the options you're using. We'll be in touch.

Josh, your site has always been an incredible value and extremely user friendly, now it is even that much more powerful!
    Small Issue:
Under Properties if you try to sort through the dropdown lists and then click search, nothing seems to happen.

Again, Thanks for all your hard work effort!

Thanks for the complement and for letting me know about this issue. I've made a ticket and we'll get to the properties issue in the coming days. My apologies for the inconvenience.

Chris - That bug of yours should be fixed now. Please let me know if that's not the case.

We also fixed some issues that caused our Companies template to look funny on some occasions.

We've also partially implemented a new feature that many of you have been asking us to add for a long time . . . now, on category pages, you'll see a new icon next to the last poster's name "»"

This icon will link to the last post in the thread.

We were hoping to add this to our main forum and dashboard forum feeds, but unfortunately, the way those systems are designed makes it impossible for this to work. We hope to eventually make the functionality work in these places, but without a complete rebuild of thee areas and their functionality, we can't implement.

    Josh,

One thing in the former layout that is missing from this new layout is the highlighting of vote totals for posts that had hit certain vote levels. This made somewhat of a visual impact that draws the viewer to that highlight, and it reduces the likelihood of that post being skimmed over. Attention grabbing = more likely to be read IMO.

Don't know if you knew of this, or whether it was deliberately or accidentally omitted - but thought I'd make you aware.

Yeap...I noticed that too Steve. I like the old highlighting much better.

That got my vote - it's really wonderful to have on a thread that has many pages, and when you know you've already read the bulk of it. Thanks!

And hopefully this same functionality will find it's way into those other places in the future.

Here's a quoting suggestion that I'd like to see implemented at some point. Above this post is a post where there is a quote; what I would like to see is the date and time of the quoted post get added into the quote somehow. I know this will get messy for those who are a bit challenged by the quotes as they are (users who mangle the existing quotes will do so with this suggestion too), but it would make it easier to refer back to the original to appreciate the context of the original.
