Can I invest from New Zealand?

Question

Hey, is it a crazy idea to invest in multi-units /mobile parks in USA from overseas?  We simply don't have the amazing potential you do with multi-unit real estate opportunities and I wondered if there was anyone that is successfully doing this.  Currently we have invested in NZ in individual rental properties but super keen on multi-units.  Would love any thoughts on this. You absolutely can!  There are many lenders with Foreign National programs.  You should expect slightly lower LTVs and slightly higher rates.  The docs and criteria are pretty similar to most other programs offered here in the US.  Just be sure to shop around with your lenders.

Be careful. I’m pretty sure investors from Australia were taken advantage of half a dozen years ago. You have to know the area you’re investing.
