Can I invest from New Zealand?

Hey, is it a crazy idea to invest in multi-units /mobile parks in USA from overseas?  We simply don't have the amazing potential you do with multi-unit real estate opportunities and I wondered if there was anyone that is successfully doing this.  Currently we have invested in NZ in individual rental properties but super keen on multi-units.  Would love any thoughts on this. Thanks so much!
